Queensland First Home Buyer Grant & Concessions
Check eligibility for the $30,000 Queensland First Home Owner Grant and transfer duty concessions. Current rates with links to official QLD Government sources.
Step 1
What type of property are you buying?
The $30,000 First Home Owner Grant applies to new homes only, newly built houses, off-the-plan apartments, or substantially renovated homes. Transfer duty concessions apply to both new and established homes.
Step 2
Have you or your partner previously owned a home in Australia?
This includes any residential property you or your co-applicant have owned, co-owned, or held an interest in anywhere in Australia, not just Queensland.
Step 3
Are you an Australian citizen or permanent resident?
At least one applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Temporary visa holders are not eligible for the FHOG.
Step 4
Will you live in the property as your principal place of residence?
You must move in within 1 year of settlement (or completion for new builds) and live there continuously for at least 1 year. Buying as a pure investment property does not qualify.
Step 5
What is the purchase price?
Grant and concession thresholds depend on the total contract value of the property.
